Jada-Gabrielle Pape is Coast Salish from the Saanich and Snuneymuxw Nations on Vancouver Island. She lives on unceded territory commonly called East Vancouver. A single mom to a teenage daughter, counselor, college instructor, and founding member of the Drawing Wisdom initiative, Jada’s creative expression is reflected in her poetry, prose writing, curriculum design, and mixed media paintings. Jada is an undergrad from UBC’s Creative Writing department with an honours thesis on Identity, and an MEd in curriculum, instruction, and counselling psychology. Her counselling background includes specialized training in both grief and trauma.
