DiverseTheatreBC (DTBC) seeks 12 artist ambassadors to assist in building the DTBC online community by recruiting peers to register in DTBC. Ambassadors will be provided with a budget to attend an average of 2 shows per month to meet Indigenous and Racialized Artists (IARA), inform them about DTBC, and encourage them to sign up. All ambassadors must be IARA living in the Greater Vancouver Area.
Positions
2 each of artists who self-identify as Indigenous, African, East Asian, Latin American, Middle Eastern/North African, South Asian, or of mixed race that includes one or more of these cultural heritages
Compensation
$150/month honorarium + $60/month ticket allowance (to cover the cost of 2 shows/month) + $50/month hospitality allowance (to cover expenses when meeting with IARA who may potentially join DTBC)
A chair elected from among the group would receive an additional $200/month honorarium for additional administrative duties.
Time Commitment
One-year term, September 2018 - August 2019. Attendance at an average of 2 shows a month, a group meeting every 3-4 months, plus individual meetings with IARA.
Dates and Times
All participants must be available in person or via skype/videoconference/teleconference for an orientation meeting on Tuesday, September 4th from 7pm – 8:30pm, location TBA.
We are looking to hire a group of artists who are representative and inclusive as possible (theatrical disciplines, genders, abilities), who are passionate about IDEA (Inclusion, Decolonization, Equity, Access), and enjoy meeting new people. Interested candidates should forward an artistic resume to our Project Manager, along with a short paragraph (no more than 250 words) describing why you would make a good ambassador for DiverseTheatreBC.
